- Cesium nitrate is used as a colorant and an oxidizer in pyrotechnic compositions.
- 有硝石味。有吸湿性。高温时分解。有氧化性。高温分解有二氧化氮气味, 在高温或强烈撞击下爆炸.能溶于水、丙酮,微溶于醇,溶于5份冷水、0.5份沸水，溶于丙酮，微溶于乙醇。有刺激性。半数致死量(大鼠，腹腔)1.2g/kg。
