• 贮运须知:贮存于阴凉、通风、干燥的库房。应与碱性物品、氧化剂和氰化物隔离储运。作业时轻装轻卸，防止容器破损受潮，并做好个人安全防护。 泄漏处理时必须戴好氧气防毒面具与胶手套。如果少量物料泄漏，可用大量水冲洗，等到浓烟消失后，用碳酸钠中和，再用水冲洗，污水排入废水系统。 火灾时，消防人员必须穿戴全身防护服，用干砂土、干粉或二氧化碳灭火。
• 理化性质:化学式VCl3。分子量157.30。紫色的六方系晶体。易潮解。相对密度3.0018(4℃)，熔点425℃分解，受热则发生歧化反应。溶于乙醇、乙酸、乙醚、苯、氯仿、甲苯和二硫化碳。溶于水分解生成次钒酸、盐酸和二氯化钒。三价钒的水合离子为绿色，与过量氯离子生成水合配位氯化物，与液氨作用生成氨合物。与气态氨作用生成氮化物，与胺类及其它有机物生成相应的配位化合物，与某些芳香族羟基酸产生特征的颜色反应。由四氯化钒热分解，或将三氧化二钒与二氯化二硫作用均可制得。氯化钒可用于制备强还原剂二氯化钒和有机钒化合物，用于有机合成的催化剂、检验鸦片的试剂。
