• 用途一:用作电镀添加剂、生化试剂、铑的分析试剂和药物中间体。
• 上游原料:甲醇钠 --> 硫脲

• 有恶臭。对空气敏感。溶于热水、乙醇、乙醚、稀碱溶液和稀盐酸，微溶于冷水(分解),水中溶解度: <6 g/L (20°C)。半数致死量(小鼠，腹腔)600mg/kg。
• 方法一:由丙二酸二乙酯与硫脲反应而得。将硫脲溶于甲醇中，加入甲醇钠及丙二酸二乙酯，加热回流4-5h，然后减压蒸馏回收甲醇至尽，冷却后加入盐酸酸化至pH为1-2。放置过夜，析出硫代巴比妥酸结晶，过滤，用水重结晶即为纯品。
